Here we are! September 2026, and I’ve got another release. Release number 9 for the year. I’ve been continuing on with my goal of one release every month this year. I did the same last year and wanted to continue the tradition.
“Fall Away” actually started out with a working title of “Capo on the 3rd Fret” and I kept calling it that till basically today. I wrote it pretty quick in 2020 soon after the pandemic hit, and always uses that working title. I just figured nobody would know what song I was talking about if it kept calling it that. I’ve always enjoyed the song and decided to try an use the guitars a little differently for this on. I wanted more of a record scratching effect and was going for that.
It’s basically a song about reflection and holding onto things in our lives that we should really let go of. It’s always hard to let go, but sometimes it’s what is needed to keep moving forward in our lives. I hope you’ll all go have a listen to it and let me know what you think.
I never did post about last months release of Desolation. I wrote that soon after 9-11 and I realize tomorrow is the 25th anniversary of 9-11. What a crazy day that was! The world has never been the same. Go check it out too. I hope you like it.
