Light Fixture

Here we are in July 2026. Wow, over half way through this year and on my 7th release for the year. I have been staying busy getting releases out each month and I’ve been proud of that. This song is one I wrote way back almost 30 years ago. On September 11th it’ll officially turn 30. Time has flown by but I’m glad I’m finally getting this one out. I do remember writing it late at night and looking at a light fixture and going with what came to me. It’s really about how some people who you might think are not too smart, really are, and some that seem put together, really aren’t that bright. Sometimes we can be surprised if we listen to someone long enough, and sometimes that person ends up digging their own grave the longer you get to know them. Of course, I know there are plenty out there who could say the same about me, and have told me as much, but this song is just an introspective thought on whether or not we judge people too quickly at times.
I do like the soft them loud approach to the song and I had fun putting it together this week. It’s one that I think, sat on the sidelines for too long.
Here are some photos of my original writing out of the song.
Enjoy and let me know what you think!
